Advancing the introduction of new effective and safe therapies for children and adolescents with cancer.
Our Approach
ITCC is a clinical trials network focused on delivering new treatments for children and adolescents with cancer through collaborative research and clinical trials. The Innovative Therapies for Children and Adolescents with Cancer (ITCC) consortium stands as one of the largest collaborative groups in the field of paediatric oncology, uniting leading paediatric oncology centres, researchers, and industry partners across Europe and beyond. With 62 sites across 17 countries, we have investigated 75 therapies, completed 55 studies and recruited 3387 patients.
By harnessing expertise from various institutions and disciplines, ITCC promotes a multidisciplinary approach to paediatric oncology research. A key focus of ITCC is the development of personalized medicine strategies tailored to the unique characteristics of each child's cancer. This approach aims to optimize treatment effectiveness while minimizing side effects.
How We Do It
Through its network of member institutions, ITCC facilitates the exchange of knowledge, resources, and expertise to advance the field of paediatric oncology. By fostering collaboration, researchers and clinicians within the consortium can leverage each other's strengths and capabilities to make significant progress in the fight against childhood cancer.
ITCC plays a pivotal role in driving innovation in paediatric oncology and improving outcomes for children and adolescents with cancer. By promoting collaboration and innovation, ITCC is leading the development of cutting-edge therapies with the potential to revolutionize paediatric cancer treatment.
Established in 2003 as a not-for-profit organization under French law, ITCC attained recognition as a European Category 1 Network for Pediatric Research at the European Medicines Agency (EnprEMA) in January 2011. Comprising an extensive network of European paediatric oncology clinical trial sites and research laboratories, ITCC collaborates closely with clinicians, scientists, regulatory bodies, pharmaceutical companies, and patient advocates to achieve its mission.
